As Salaamu alaikum my beloveds,
I pray you are at your best and Only at your best. Remember, you are the best of people, not because I say it but because Allah says it. Strive every single day to be your best because Allah speaks the Truth and if He says we're the best than believe we're the best. Only walk towards greatness.
I wanted to share something with you my beloved. In NY many months ago while driving to work one day, I was waiting at a traffic light and noticed a Muslim man talking to a woman at the bus stop. Subhanallah, the woman was scantily dressed but the brother kept his eyes to the ground the entire time to avoid looking at her. This made my heart smile because boy do I love a servant who fears Allah in public and in private.
Yesterday, I was reminded of this story when I found myself at a traffic light. I saw a young Muslim brother jogging down the street and on the opposite end were a couple of scantily dressed women approaching him. Of course cars were beeping at them causing a ruckus. Subhanallah, the brother crossed the street to avoid passing them and they noticed it. People were watching them, while they were watching him, and he was watching and protecting his Deen!!
I LOVE THIS!! A servant who fears Allah in public and private Always stands out in the crowd)! May Allah grant them and all those like them the best wives among the women and the best offspring among the children. Amin!! If you have a man like this in your life (father, husband, brother, son) hit that like button, but do something even better than that my sisters. Match him or better than him regarding your Deen!!
Until we meet again....Happy Blogging!

Live in your Power and opt out for living in Fear
What is power?
Powerful people don't sit around and wait for others to determine if they can fit you into their lives, like a piece to a puzzle. They don't give others the sole responsibility of determining if you're worthy enough to be in their world. Powerful people are the spectators, evaluating every situation carefully and then choosing to share valuable energy on people and things that fill their tanks up with light, joy, benefit, and happiness. They dont waste time or energy on those who prove unworthy. I realized that we share eachothers energy and I am not in the business of swaping anyone's negativity nor holding a space for dark energy.
When you see a crowd of people usually the loudest, cockiest, most arrogant one is the most insecure and the most quiet one has his back up straight and is most aware of his surroundings. Power is affecting people by your silence. Power is feeling like a million bucks whether you're in a jogging suit, jilbab, or designer outfit. Power is in your speech, your thoughts, and your actions.
Why be powerful? Powerful thoughts bring about powerful action. Powerful action save lives. Powerful words free enslaved captives. Powerful statements provoke change. Powerful movements heals wounds. Powerful people help save, heal, and change lives!
If you have been playing it safe because you're under the false pretense that to be powerful somehow means you have not arrived at a proper and full understanding of Islam, I invite you to consider this.
Allah (The Lord of the world and everything in it) named Him self with the Most Beautiful Names, 99 of which He revealed to us, the rest remains with Him. One of those 99 Names is Al Muqtadir- The All Powerful. If you examine the remainder of His names and we'll use 5 just for argument sake, we come to a clear understanding that Allah tells us to immolate His attributes. Ar Rahman- The Merciful, Ash Shakur-The Appreciative, Al Gafur-The Forgiving, Al Haqq-The Truth, Al Wadud-The Loving One. Allah says that He shows Mercy to those who are MERCIFUL. Satan threatens he will mislead many and prove that most are ungrateful, so we should be grateful and APRECIATIVE. Allah tells us to be FORGIVING to a point that we make 99 excuses for those who wrong us. Allah says speak the TRUTH even if its against your ownself. Allah says to increase LOVE beteen our hearts by salaaming those we know and do not know. Allah is AL MUQTADIR The Most Powerful and we should be powerful enough to fight our Nafs, bury our fear other than the Fear of Allah, and be the powerful confident movers and shakers like our past examples of Nabiyyun Muhammad (SWA), the Sahabah's and the people of his time.
Rasulullah (SWA) was the most powerful example of what a true believer is. This elevated state made him even more humble to a point where his silence spoke louder then his words. People knew when he was angry because he turned his back and became red in the face which made the people shake in Fear of them displeasing him. That's power.
So what part of the game is this when we think we're Holy by saying everything is Haram, staying in a bubble, criticizing those who are out doing the work to change your life so that you can have better options then picking a Muslim male or non muslim female gynocologist? We need to get out of the habit of thinking stifling one another is deen, thats not deen thats foolishness. Its ok to be afraid, but its not okay to worship it to a point where its your guiding force. If you dont step into you power that Allah has preferred you with over the disbelievers how are you supposed to raise confident, successful children who will one day compete with Harvard and Yale graduates? Keep living in a stifling, condemnation, low confident, scared, safe place while the world around you thrives. In the end you will see that Allah put you in this place at this particular time to play a role and that you shoud've been woke up and recognized the role to play.

Are we nurturing our women?
Peace, greetings, and salutations, ASA my beloved souls,
Sisters why is it that we know our children so well, we can distinguish between a sleepy cry, a hungry one, or a plain ole I need some attention, cry? We take the time to learn our children's language so that we can provide them with successful, thriving, and loving tools. We want them to be the best and so we do our best to meet all their needs. How about we do the same for us?
Sisters let's research ourselves so well that We can write our own prescriptions when life throws us those unexpected curve balls. Let's begin to recognize when we had our fill and step away to rejuvenate. Every woman has at least one thing that makes her feel powerful. Find it sisters, fast and then position yourself so that you give energy to this power inducing serum. Energy grows where energy goes. My secret formula that makes the regular days seem super and the extraordinary days feel like ecstasy is ALLAH! Allah meets my needs and wants like no other can. So when I'm presented with an obstacle I can induce my self with this quick, energy boosting shot of vitamins so that I can continue to fulfill my mission, tailor made to fit. You see sisters I know what it feels like to be in so much pain, so much darkness that I have to close my eyes to see the light of Allah. As long as I nurture my relationship with Allah my world is lit with the Nur of Allah. And as long as I make integrity based decisions I know Allah is smiling down on me which makes me feel like I have limitless possibilities. As long as Allah remains my source of being, belonging, acceptance, self regard, I feel empowered and my family, friends, and the whole entire world around me benefits from me.
Sisters get back to looking into the mirrors and saying I love you. Not out of conceit, rather from the same type of love Allah has created you in. You were born on the fitrah. Allah perfectly created you imperfect. Please get back to nurturing yourselves so that when your husbands and loved ones love you, they add to what you already fill your tank up with as opposed to being your self-esteem dependency. I see you in the masjids with the sucking on lemons permanent look and I pray for you. I truly do. It's time to remove that armor you have around your heart, because although its protecting you from ever being hurt again, its also blocking you from love, peace, and a world of abundance out there. Please readjust back to a warm, loving, and nurturing climate, even if your house is cold right now, because if you begin to inject yourselves with your power serum, the world around you and the people in it will only reflect that.
Remember my beautiful sisters, energy is neither created nor destroyed just transferred from one source to another. Loving, nurturing, empowering, peaceful, and accepting energy is the formula for every single woman. Try it today, get back to nurturing your souls because remember you belong to Allah, you're only a loan and He will ask you about the condition and treatment of His loan. Don't disappoint Him, if not for you, do it for Allah. You're worth that at least.

"If someone can't handle your light you hand them shades" -Lisa Nichols
At 16 yrs old she was in doubt. At 19 she was suicidal. She was a single mother on government assistance and W.I.C. struggling to feed her baby. She found herself in the arms of the wrong fellows looking for the love she didn't give herself. Her English teacher told her she was the weakest writer he'd ever met in his entire life. Her speech professor recommended that she never speak in public.
Lisa Nichols, the first African American woman to get a $1,000,000 book deal, has 5 best sellers which was translated in 28 foreign languages, owns 2 Multi Million Dollar enterprises, landed in 157 countries through her appearance on 'The Secret' and The Oprah Winfrey show, international public speaker, Transformational Queen helping to transform 1 million adults and 210,000 teenagers through her motivating the masses organization, and I was blessed to be on the most inspirational conference call with her this morning!! Subhanallah!!!
Let me just say this. It is no mistake that you're reading this. You may have stumbled upon this website. You may have been searching for something. It is no mistake!!! Allah, God, The Creator of the Universe has an assignment for you. You are the inheritor of a prominent position if only you will accept the task.
So much of what Lisa said has changed my entire outlook, but if I could leave you with just something that she so eloquently and passionately articulated, it would be this.
She said "Don't ask the world permission to be ginormous, give them notice. Your self care is not an option or a luxury it is a responsibility to your future. Most people are willing to be more committed to live inside familiar discomfort before they commit to unfamiliar possibility. Our new mental residency must be possibility. Are you willing to be someone you never met before? Are you willing to stand on faith with what you do know and find out about what you don't know? Are you willing to have a New Cirlce of Friends, to add a new dimension to your conversations? Announce to the world that the 2012 version of yourself will be barely recognizable compared to the 2010 you. The work is not on this conference call, text messages,(my insert- copying & pasting hadiths and ayats, pointing out who's right or wrong) but the work is what you do after you hang up the phone, your implementation! Stand tall, illuminate your light, because the little girl in the corner then gets a glimpse of her own possibility when you do. And if someone can't handle your light, don't turn it down so that they're comfortable, you hand them a pair of shades"
SUBHANALLAH!!! YOU GUYS CANNOT IMAGINE WHAT ALLAH USED THIS SISTER TO DO FOR ME THIS MORNING!! SUBHANALLAH!! APPROXIMATELY 0.9% OF THE POPULATION ARE BILLIONAIRES. I HAVE 800+ VIEWING THIS BLOG. IF MY CALCULATIONS ARE CORRECT 9, MAYBE 10 OF YOU WILL LISTEN TO THE REPLAY OF THIS CONFERENCE CALL WITH LISA NICHOLS AND INTRODUCE THE WORLD TO THE NEW VERSION OF YOURSELF. TO THE REST OF YOU, IN DUE TIME YOU TOO WILL EMBARK ON YOUR GREATNESS INSHA'ALLAH. AS LISA NICHOLS SAYS THAT 19 YR OLD STILL TRIES TO MAKE APPEARANCES BUT THE 4O SOMETHING YR OLD VERSION SAYS 'DON'T WORRY I'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU.' I LOVE YOU, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.....HAPPY BLOGGING :)

A girl once told me she thought I was a B*@#$
As salaamu alaikum Peace and greeetings,
My dear beautiful cherry blossoms, I was inspired to share this with you today. Years ago when I first attended H.s. a girl whom I later befriended told me that when she first saw me she thought I was a B*@#%. "Why" I asked her. She told me that I was the new girl who thought she was all of that because while the other girls found a median between skanky party outfits and early morning jogging wear, I wore elegant long skirts with head scarves she'd never seen before, matching the shoes and pocket books perfectly. She just wasn't used to "that style for our age". When I asked her what she thought about my personality, she said she wondered what the h*@# I was always so happy about. Later I asked her about that conversation and she admitted it was her own insecurity because I was the new black girl, I was different, I stood out, and everyone dug it!
You see, my beautiful fellow Muslims we ARE different, but different is good. We are more than the average people who hang out in streets, have insignificant and meaningless conversations, we are Muslims, Alhamdulillah. We don't have to blend in or play down our uniqueness. We glow from our salats while they spend buko money on cover girl foundation products. We have tranquility and love of Allah which makes us feel whole, they spend thousands upon thousands of dollars trying to fill their empty voids with every type of nip, tuck, reconstructive, enhancer, surgery there's known to mankind. Subhanallah, and when they see us "different, happy, shining, beautiful" they don't know how to respond so we're deemed as a B*&@#$, because the energy and power a Believer brings will outshine any other thing always. No two things can co-exist. Darkness and light cannot exist at the same time. You choose which side you want to be on, stay in the dark or step into the light!

"I. Am. So. Official"-Misundastood's daughter
"I.Am.So.Official."-Nasihah (Tavasha Misundastood's 2 yr old daughter.) I had one of the most rewarding days yesterday. Not only did I spend time with my family, but we had a special visit from my girl, Tavasha Shannon (many of you know her as Misundastood). Allow me to share why this visit was so special. I observed my daughter, my neice, and Tavasha's daughter truly embracing eachother with love and compassion. They expressed their joy of being in eacother's presence with smiles, hugs, and even kisses. SUBHANALLAH, it was so genuine and pure. There was no anxiety between them. No jealousy or fear. It was pure love for one another. If only we adults can behave in the same manner, Subhanallah. Sure they're age range 13 months to 2 yrs play a major role, but how is it that instinctively they profess love and joy for one another at an age where they cant fully decipher wrong from right, yet as adults sometimes we treat eachother in the worst way? SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH THAT.
Yesterday my show proved that when we begin to join forces and align with our beautiful fellow creations (our fellow human beings), only greatness comes about which transcends those who witness it. Yesterday's show, Muslimah's in the media with Najmah53 (spotlight), Maureesah SheSoul Cherry (SpeakN Volumez ), and Tahirah Taalib-Din (The Tahirah Show), was one of the best shows I ever did because it defined what true love is about. True love for humanity is about coming together for the pleasure of ALLAH, putting aside all your differences, bringing to the table all your strenghts for a common cause. A GOOD CAUSE. AND ALHAMDULILLAH WE DID JUST THAT. The intent was fulfilled, to inspire our fellow muslimah's to step into their fierceness. We no longer have the luxury of time. We need eachother's help, support, love, and encouragement. Put aside your differences today and align with like minded people, because it's time to become part of the solutions and eventually eliminate the problems! UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL. UMMAHTUL-WAHID, ONE NATION! WHO'S WITH ME?!
